Skills Zone Training College- Where Second Chances Become Success Stories

Background

Every year, Coastal students who don’t achieve the grades required for mainstream universities and colleges face a dead end. With limited options, too many drift into poverty, joblessness, crime, substance abuse, or even radicalization. The result? Broken dreams, struggling families, and a society weighed down by unemployment.

Skills Zone Training College was created to change that story.
We exist to give hope and opportunity to youth who feel locked out of the future. Through hands-on, practical training, we equip them with the skills they need to:

  1. Start small businesses and become self-employed
  2. Gain meaningful jobs in industries that need skilled workers
  3. Build sustainable careers that uplift themselves, their families, and their communities

At Skills Zone, we believe that low grades do not mean low potential. Every young person deserves a chance to shine, to earn an income, and to contribute positively to society. By keeping youths engaged in productive work, we help reduce poverty, fight drug abuse, and protect our community from the dangers of radicalization.

Our Impact So Far:

Partnered with Faiz Amana Foundation , where 100 students were equipped with computer skills, make-up, and hairdressing.

Partnered with USAID , where 250 students are set to graduate this August with skills in baking, hairdressing, and make-up.

Expecting another 200 students this September under the Tujiajiri program by KCB Foundation and Mombasa County, who will train in a six-month NITA-examined beauty course.

Already preparing for 1,000 students shortlisted to join in January 2026 under the Skills Mtaani program with Mombasa County , training in baking, computer skills, beauty, fashion & design, and tailoring.

Every partnership, every graduate, and every course is a step closer to transforming youth crisis into a story of resilience, empowerment, and progress.
